/// Statement ///

I am a creative professional with over fifteen years experience of in-house graphic, photographic and multimedia positions based in metro Detroit. My emphasis is design (print, web and interactive), photography, and technical illustration- although rapidly changing technology has made this subject to change and allowed me to expand my skillset and explore different methods. There is no project too large or small and no medium unworthy of exploration.

I believe developing creativity and imagination empowers a person and leads to exploration and discovery, while teaching about yourself and others. Creativity provides a sense of reason and purpose in life- I am passionate about design that inspires, informs and entertains while provoking thought, emotion and stimulating meaningful dialogue. Art is important for every person because of the social connections, critical, analytical and information synthesis skills that are learned. Creating art is a catalyst for inventive and resourceful ambition, inspiring new ideas while encouraging innovative projects.

Although design process, philosophies and technology constantly change, however, it’s important to note that ultimately, there is one general philosophy about graphic design: Graphic design is the visualization of communication– a visual practice in which ideas are communicated through its form and the relationships between typography and images.

The core significance of my process development, progression and practice lies unassumingly in the activity of research, experimentation, and most of all, creating. It is through that act of creation that I continue to question and sustain my imagination, which influences and motivates me as a designer and artist.

/// MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY ///

Think broadly and focus on the informational and problem-solving nature of design.

Graphic Design

Throughout my personal and professional experiences, I discovered the core significance of my process development, progression and practice lies unassumingly in the activity of research, experimentation, and most of all, creating. It is through that act of creation that I continue to question and sustain my imagination, which influences and motivates me as a designer and artist.

UI/UX Design

User interface design informs, engages and delights users in aesthetic and practical ways. When designing, I consider the typography, graphic elements, space and functionality in new and effective ways. I begin searching for connections and relationships between the screens and the user so the experience enhances the user satisfaction and loyalty by improving the usability, ease of use, and pleasure provided in the interaction.

Motion Graphics

Today, motion graphics can be found on various desktop, tablet, mobile, and even automotive devices. Users demand immersive experiences, and we now see motion graphics playing a larger role in design.

Photography

Photography is not about the tools, it’s about the vision you have and the ability to render that vision into a final, tangible result, whether it be for print or digitally displayed. The power of observation is essential to creating the envisioned composition.
