Motion Graphics

Motion graphics project

Motion graphics is video that incorporates the use of video footage, text, images and/or animation to create the illusion of motion and may be combined with audio for use in multimedia projects. Motion graphics are usually displayed via electronic media technology such as television, computers, digital signage and wayfinders. This project provided me with the opportunity to work with typography and images that went beyond the world of 2-D and 3-D – in time-based media. Time-based media (video, web based, etc.) is defined by space/time relationships – information is consciously sequenced to communicate in a particular space within a specific time frame – and, unlike 2-D and 3-D work, is not static but is a changing sequence of information. With time-based media, the space is the projection area and the time is the duration it takes to experience the information. In this case, the final product was to create a short screensaver for the digital wayfinders found inside WSU-SOM.
